02-05-20Usual Inuit services held in Mission Church by Kidlapik.
03-05-20Jno. Hayward, Isheuktuk, Mattheuse, Adam and Sargieuktuk, Godiliak and Nowdlak all off early this morning on a deer hunting expedition, which will probably last about a week. Mr. Stewart superintending the various jobs going on outside such as baling [and] packing porpoise hides, folding and baling seal [hides]. All men remaining on Post working at aforementioned [work]. C. Bradbury working in office during forenoon and assisting Mr. Stewart during afternoon. L.A. Learmonth working in office. All women on Post cleaning sealskins.

06-05-20 Isheuktuk, Adam, Sargieuktuk and Nowdlak returned from the Deer country during the day. Adam and Sargieuktuk report no luck but Isheuktuk and Nowdlak got four between them. Several small blasts were made and all male Inuit on Post were employed in connection with same. Women stacking coal and piling Coats Island lumber. S.J. 07-05-20 Isheuktuk, Mattheuse, Adam, and Sargieuktuk repairing Nannuk's rudder of which they are making a very fine job. Jamessie and Mooney hanging out sealskins etc. to dry and at various other jobs about the Post. All remaining Inuit employed at blasting operations which were carried out today. S.J. 10-05-20 S.J. Stewart working at Nannuk and various jobs outside. C. Bradbury working at hoisting engine, L.A. Learmonth working in office. John Hayward, Isheuktuk, Adam, and Sargieuktuk working aboard Nannuk. Nowdlak, Godiliak making a water cart. Women cleaning skins. Remainder of post hands at various jobs such as hanging out fox skins to dry, stretching sealskins etc.

13-05-20 The Depot foundation had to be hauled up today because the pier had settled so much during the winter as to throw it right off the level. It was intended to complete the Depot Building this month but owing to the continued sinking of the foundation it is considered impractable at present. Consequently no more work will be done on the Depot until the foundation has been filled in and allowed to settle a little more. S.J. Stewart working in office and superintending work going on outside. C. Bradbury fixing up water tanks for the summer and at various other jobs. L.A. Learmonth working in office. John Hayward made two foot scrapers today, one for the office door and one for the house. Isheuktuk and Mattheuse working at Nannuk's and Daryl's engines. Adam finished repairing the Nannuk's hatches and fixed the head of the Depot crane. Sargieuktuk and Nowdlak finished the water cart. Remainder of Inuit working at Depot foundation, hanging out skins to dry, etc.
14-05-20 S.J. Stewart along with a majority of the Post servants went out to the site of the old Depot this forenoon to make preparations for taking in the shed remaining there. In the afternoon the seal scaffold was removed from its present site to the centre of the small bight immediately to the north of its old position. All Inuit on the Post working at the aforementioned jobs, with the exception of Mooney and Jamessie who were working at sealskins and at odd jobs. C. Bradbury and L.A. Learmonth working in the office.
15-05-20 S.J. Stewart interviewing Inuit and grading foxes. C. Bradbury trading with Inuit in store and giving out weekly rations to skin cleaners. L.A. Learmonth grading fox skins. John Hayward, Adam, Nowdlak working at seal scaffold. Isheuktuk Mattheuse as on yesterday. Mooney and Kool[a]ulak stretching out and drying sealskins etc. Women cleaning sealskins. Remainder of hands working at various jobs around the Post. In the afternoon all hands off trouting or seal hunting.
16-05-20 Nowdlak held service for the Inuit.
17-05-20 The finishing touches were put to the re-erection of the seal scaffold early in the afternoon. The digging of foundation for store (at present out at site of old Depot) was commenced during the afternoon but had to be abandoned on getting a few inches down owing to the ground being frozen. Nearly all the Inuit labourers employed at aforementioned work during the greater part of the day. S.J. 18-05-20 Geese and ducks are now putting in an appearance as well as all the usual feathered visitors who haunt these regions during the Spring and Summer. The Inuit are now getting quite a few seals and no longer come to the Post complaining of hunger as they have been doing during the greater part of the winter. S.J. 19-05-20 S.J. Stewart working in office and superintending work going on outside. C. Bradbury fixing Evinrude engines etc. L.A. Learmonth at work in the office. John Hayward repairing waggon wheels and assisting Adam aboard Nannuk. Isheuktuk, Mattheuse and Annogok took out both tanks of Nannuk and repaired them. Also making slight alterations in the engine room partition. Mooney making harness for the pups. Sargieuktuk and Nowdlak finished the water cart, filled up water tank. Later on Sargieuktuk commenced work on a new jib-boom for the Daryl and Nowdlak making head for water barrel. Jamessie and Koolilak cleaning out No. 4 store and filling oil barrels with water from brook and later cleaning up Post grounds along with boys. Adam and Godiliak splicing ropes on Nannuk and tightening back stays of same preparatory to making lanyards on same. Women scrubbing out Nannuk's hold and cleaning skins.
20-05-20 S.J. Stewart, C. Bradbury and L.A. Learmonth taking Inventory of store. Engineers fitting in tanks of Nannuk and at carpenter work in engine room. Also cleaning out jackets of engine cylinders. John Hayward, Adam and Kollelak making lanyards on Nannuk. Mooney and Jamessie finished harness and breaking in pups. Nowdlak and Godiliak making drains in front of house and cleaning out brook, also working at skins. Sargieuktuk finished jib-boom for Daryl and commenced work on fat in No. 6.
21-05-20 S.J. Stewart, C. Bradbury and L.A. Learmonth continued taking Inventory. Sargieuktuk and Kollilak at work in the fat store. John Hayward and Adam continued to make lanyards for the Nannuk.Isheuktuk and Mattheuse employed on Nannuk's engine. Other men assisting at Inventory and at sundry odd jobs. Women cleaning sealskins and at work in the No. 5 store cutting Sq. Flippers and Jar skins into boot makings, also clearing up Post grounds.
22-05-20 S.J. Stewart taking Inventory, interviewing Inuit and superintending work going on around the Post. C. Bradbury giving out rations to women during the forenoon. L.A. Learmonth at work on Inventory and at work in the office. John Hayward and Adam measuring Coal Oil and Gasoline and at sundry odd jobs. Engineers working on engines. Women making boots. Sargieuktuk and Kollilak boiling fat. Early in the afternoon C. Bradbury, Sargieuktuk, Mattheuse and Mooney set off on a hunting expedition which will last about a week this being their spring holiday. Isheuktuk, while out hunting this evening, found an owl's nest with nine eggs in it, all of them fairly fresh. Navolio and Sammy arrived during the evening bringing a good deal of seal fat etc.
23-05-20 Nearly all the Inuit around the Post have been laid up in turn with a slight touch of Influenza but nothing very serious as a couple of Aspern usually effects a cure. Nowdlak held services.
24-05-20 This has been such an awful day of rain that it was quite impossible to carry out any work outside. S.J. Stewart and L.A. Learmonth at work in the office. John Hayward and Isheuktuk set off to hunt seals for dog feed but had to return on account of the bad weather. Later John repaired Nannuk's foghorn and Isheuktuk working at odd jobs. Jamessie and Kollilak commenced work on boiling fat but had to give up on account of the weather. Women employed on the House spring cleaning. Remainder of men were sent off trouting and hunting but they only got a few trout and a good soaking.
25-05-20 S.J. Stewart and L.A. Learmonth working at Inventory in the office. John Hayward and Adam completed the lanyards for Nannuk's back stay and later on were occupied cutting sheathing for the vessel. Isheuktuk working at engine and at pitsaw work. Annogok at pitsaw work. Kollilak and Jamessie boiling fat, etc. Nowdlak and Godiliak put up new poles for clothes line. Women finished cleaning upper rooms in the house and at various other jobs. Malitia and Martha went off trouting and were lucky enough to get a few.
26-05-20 With the exception of Adam, who was making sheathing for the Nannuk everyone was off hunting or trouting. Some of the boys while out hunting came across another owl's nest with eight eggs in it all fairly fresh.
27-05-20 S.J. Stewart working in office and superintending work going on outside. L.A. Learmonth working in the office. John Hayward and Isheuktuk repairing side of Nannuk and making new sheathing. When completed the new sheathing will be fully a foot higher than the previous. Jamessie and Kollilak boiling seal fat. Nowdlak repairing boxes on wooden wheelbarrrows. Adam, Malitia and Godiliak off trouting and hunting. Women cleaning up grounds around the Post, cleaning seal skins etc. Boys stretching and drying sealskins.
28-05-20 S.J. Stewart working in office and superintending work going on outside. Adam working at Nannuk.John Hayward and Isheuktuk putting sheathing on Nannuk. Godiliak cleaning seal skins etc. Remainder of men, women and boys on the Post as on yesterday.
29-05-20 S.J. Stewart at sundry jobs outside and superintending various jobs going on. L.A. Learmonth giving out rations to skin cleaners and Post labourers. John Hayward and Isheuktuk, Annogok and Adam working at Nannuk. Remainder of men on the Post at sundry jobs such as stretching sealskins, cleaning up grounds, working at Depot etc. Women hauling water to the house and cleaning up Post grounds etc. Boys working with sealskins. C. Bradbury and party returned from hunting expedition at a late hour. They were fairly successful, securing several seals and a few birds.
30-05-20 Very quiet all day. Nowdlak held service.
31-05-20 S.J. Stewart and John Hayward along with the majority of the Inuit went out to the site of the old Depot and took down the house there, the remainder has yet to be brought in. Jamesie, the women and the boys, finished cleaning out the brook, then fixed house veranda and cutting out makings of boots during rest of the day. C. Bradbury and L.A.
