John Edmunds

Back to Staff Page

Born in Davis Inlet, Labrador in 1894, Edmunds was a post labourer with Stewart at the new Lake Harbour Post in 1912, at 18 years of age. He was with Stewart again in Cape Dorset in 1913 serving there until 1916 (in Stewart's description as "servant and labourer") when he returned to Lake Harbour. His personnel sheet shows him as employed at Lake Harbour until 1921; Bradbury reports him there in August 1919 but the post journal makes no mention of him in May 1920, his duties apparently taken over by John Hayward who is noted at "interpreting" on 17 05 20..
