01-11-20S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters visited their trap lines this morning and although good signs of foxes were to be seen none were got in the traps owing to most of them being covered by the recent fall of snow. Jim Palliser along with Adam, Isheuktuk and Narluktuk set out in two canoes for the purpose of hunting seals and to visit their fox traps. Two foxes and two seals were brought back ­ Isheuktuk one fox and one seal and Adam getting the other fox. They reported having seen good signs of foxes round their trap lines while a good few seals and white whales were reported being seen outside the harbour. On their return journey the canoes had to be abandoned the hunters taking to the shore owing to the ice in the harbour being too thick to navigate them.

03-11-20 Jim Palliser along with Adam and Isheuktuk set out early this morning to visit their trap lines and to hunt seals outside the harbour. No seals were to be seen while 3 Foxes were got in the traps­Isheuktuk getting two while the third was got in one of Narluktuk's traps. In the forenoon S.J. Stewart was trading with the Inuit who arrived yesterday and M.L. Manning was partly at office work and serving the Inuit in the store. News having been brought that Sonnealuk ­ Narluktuk's father was very ill. Narluktuk left this forenoon along with the other Inuit to visit his father's camp. S.J. Stewart, who has been feeling very seedy for the last day or two, was forced to go to bed being unable to do any work.
04-11-20 S.J. Stewart, who has recovered a little from his illness, was at office work along with M.L. Manning. W.J. Peters set out after breakfast by himself to visit S.J. Stewart's, M.L. Manning's and his own trap lines but had to come back empty handed, not even a sign of a fox having been seen. Jim Palliser accompanied by Adam and Isheuktuk went off this morning to hunt seals and to visit their traps. Two seals and two foxes in all were got. Jim Palliser getting one fox ­ Adam one fox and one seal while Isheuktuk got the other seal. They reported having seen shoals of dead rock cod in the bay while the coast ice was overrun with fox tracks, probably why no signs were to be seen further inland. They also reported the ice making fast outside.
05-11-20 S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters at work in the office the whole day. Jim Palliser doing various odd jobs around the Post while Adam and Isheuktuk were getting the komatik and the dog harness ready for the winter.
06-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in the office. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters rationing mess and Post Labourers, serving Inuit and cleaning up store. Jim Palliser with Adam and Isheuktuk set off this morning with komatik and dogs on a seal hunt and to collect the rock cod they reported to be floating in the bay. They returned at night with five seals ­ Jim Palliser getting two ­ Adam two and Isheuktuk one while Adam also brought back a fox which he got in one of his traps. They brought back very little fish however ­ most of them having been frozen over during the night and lying well under the ice.

08-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. M. Leo Manning and W.J. Peters at office work also. Jas. Palliser making bed. Adam and Isheuktuk employed making new komatik. Malitia (House cook) visited her traps yesterday and got two foxes.
09-11-20 S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters at office work. Jas. Palliser making bed for spare room in house. Adam and Isheuktuk making new Komatik.
10-11-20 In the morning S.J. Stewart and W.J. Peters putting up Beaver Board in Mr. Stewart's office; M.L. Manning and Jas. Palliser putting up Beaver Board in the former's bedroom. Adam, Isheuktuk putting shoes on Komatik. In the afternoon, having seen a dozen or more seals on the ice Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk went out for a hunt but were unsuccessful only one being killed by Adam. S.J. Stewart, W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning employed as in forenoon.
11-11-20 S.J. Stewart, W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning visited their traps in the morning but got nothing. In the afternoon S.J. Stewart putting up Beaver Board strips in his office, W.J. Peters and Manning painting walls and putting up Beaver Board strips in latter's bedroom. Adam, Isheuktuk and Jas. Palliser went seal hunting, Isheuktuk killing 2 Seals and Jas. Palliser 2 also Adam visited his traps and got 2Foxes.
12-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning finished putting up Beaver Board strips in latter's bedroom. Later W.J. Peters taking down files etc. in office for Beaver Board to be put up. Manning rearranging furniture in bedroom. Jas. Palliser cleaning foxes. Adam and Isheuktuk at new Komatik and preparing for Seal hunting trip.
13-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. M.L. Manning and M.L. Manning rationing servants wives and cleaning up store and putting up Beaver Board in large office. Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk seal hunting; Jas. Palliser got one seal, Adam one and Isheuktuk three.
14-11-20 Nothing of importance happened today.
15-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in office the whole day. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters putting up Beaver Board, painting and putting up beaver board strips in the inner office. Jim Palliser laying down Duck on one of the new rooms after which he painted it. While Adam and Isheuktuk were engaged in making and painting beaver board strips.
16-11-20 As usual the day broke dull and cloudy but towards mid-day it began to clear while now and then the sun would show itself ­ quite a welcome and novel sight after the weather we have been getting for the last fortnight. Jim Palliser along with Adam and Isheuktuk set out early this morning on a seal hunt and to visit their fox traps. On the whole they had a very successful day ­ three foxes and twelve seals being the bag for the day's hunt. Jim Palliser's share was 2 foxes and 4 seals ­ Adam's1 fox and 3 seals ­ Isheuktuk getting the other 5 seals. All the women on the Post excepting Malitia and Adam's Wife were off setting traps ­ Isheuktuk's wife bringing back 1 fox. S.J. Stewart was at work the whole day checking in the office, while M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters finished work on the inner office.
17-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in the office the whole day. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters set off in the morning to their traps but had their usual luck ­ having to come back empty handed. Adam also left in the morning with his teams to fetch his small komatik which was lying at his inner camp. Jim Palliser and Isheuktuk were fetching ice for the house in the forenoon, making a bed for the house and doing odd jobs for the rest of the day.
18-11-20 Isheuktuk set out this morning with his team to the bay outside to see if the sealswhich have been shot and cached out there owing to the thin ice making it almost impossible to get them in to the Post, were still there and had not been lost in the gale. He reported them as being all safe and at the same time brought back a fox which he had got in one of his traps. Adam's wife and son also visited their traps today bringing back one each. S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters at work in the office the whole day. . Jim Palliser finished the bed for the house this afternoon and after having painted it started painting the roof of one of the rooms. Adam was at work the whole day making beaver board strips.
19-11-20 M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters set off after breakfast to visit S.J. Stewart's traps. The going was hard and good ­ the country being almost bare by the high wind ­ one fox was got. Jim Palliser along with Isheuktuk and Adam left in the early morning on a seal hunt and to visit their trap lines but had only very moderate luck as regards seals ­ one being the bag for the day which was shot by Isheuktuk. They did better as regards foxes however ­ four i[l] all being caught ­ two by Isheuktuk ­ one by Jim Palliser and one by Adam. Kidlapik came in the morning with his team to trade and left early in the afternoon. Sargieuktuk and his son with Jamassie "B" also came in this forenoon to trade, and intend leaving sometime tomorrow. S.J. Stewart was at work in the office the whole day, trading with the arrivals and working on the books ­ in the afternoon M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters were at office work.
20-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in the office in the forenoon trading with Inuit and at work on the books. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters rationing Men's and Servants Wives, serving Inuit in store and cleaning up all round. Jim Palliser cleaning fox skins and doing odd jobs around the Post. Isheuktuk and Adam set off early in the morning with their teams on a seal hunt and to cache safely the seals which had been shot before and left outside. They also visited their fox traps outside but had very little luck all round ­ no seals being shot and only one fox being caught which fell to the lot of Isheuktuk. Isheuktuk's wife also visited her traps today and brought back one fox. In the afternoon S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters set off with a komatik and team to set a couple of new traps each and to attend to S.J. Stewart's traps. Two foxes were the result of the afternoon's work which both fell to the lot of S.J. Stewart bringing his total bag to five.

22-11-20 S.J. Stewart, M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters at office work. Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk went to their traps this morning; James Palliser getting nothing. Adam 1 fox and Isheuktuk [. . . ] foxes.
23-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. In the morning Jas. Palliser, W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning went to see Mr. Stewart's and the latter two's traps with dog team, but were unsuccessful. They also set one trap each; Jimmy set one for Mr. Stewart. In the afternoon W.J. Peters [sic} and Manning office. Adam and Isheuktuk at odd jobs.
24-11-20 S.J. Stewart, W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning at office work. Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk left for deer hunting this morning and will probably be gone for a week. Malitia visited her traps today but got nothing. On her way back she saw tracks made by 4 deer on the Big Lake behind the Post.
25-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning at office work in the forenoon. In afternoon making cradle for Molasses Barrel and bringing molasses into house, also cleaning Shop Scales. Narlucktuk and Itosiak employed at Molasses also.
26-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. W.J. Peters and M.L. Manning and Narlucktuk went off to the Eastward to set some more traps. Narlucktuk setting 2, and Manning one. Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk arrived from Deer Country this afternoon reporting plenty of deer. They only journeyed about 10miles from the Post, killing 43 deer. They got short of ammunition and had to return.
27-11-20 S.J. Stewart at office work. W.J. Peters and M. Leo Manning rationing Servants' Wives and cleaning up Stores. Jas. Palliser, Adam and Isheuktuk visited their traps today. Jimmy got one fox, Isheuktuk3 foxes and Adam
28-11-20 Nothing of importance happened today. Malitia left for Sargieuktuk's Camp today and will not return until Tuesday.
29-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in office, trading and at general office work. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters serving in store and at work in office. Jim Palliser and Narluktuk with Adam and Isheuktuk accompanied by their families left early this morning on a deer hunt and to bring back as many of the deer as they can carry which were shot on the last hunt and are lying around the country ­thosewhich they are unable to take back on their return trip they are to cache owing to one or two of the deer which were left out a single night were completely demolished by the foxes by next morning. Jamassie "B" arrived early this morning with his team and left again early in the afternoon in the direction of the deer hunters to try his luck. Matto and Koulila arrived at the Post about 5 o'clock this evening.
30-11-20 S.J. Stewart at work in the office trading and at general office work. M.L. Manning and W.J. Peters were serving in the store after breakfast and on finishing work their set off to visit their traps tending S.J. Stewart's also on their way out but as usual had nothing but herd luck not one fox got for their day's walk. Malitia returned from her people's camp this afternoon.
